Community Highlights:

The history of the settlement of Caxias do Sul begins in 1875 with the arrival of the earliest Italian immigrants to the hilly region of Rio Grande do Sul. On June 20, 1890, the municipality was created.

The mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul, has always drawn the attention of tourists, mainly, due to the sub-tropical climate, the landscape and the hospitality of the Caxiense people. The municipality’s countryside is also very significant and the values of the European immigration. The temperature ranges between negative 2ºC and 36ºC degrees during the year, with the average being around 16ºC degrees centigrade. In addition to this, it presents periodical rains with cold winters, and pleasant temperatures in the summer.

Numerous national and international fairs, congresses and industrial, commercial and service oriented events attract thousands of visitors reinforcing the Caxias do Sul tourist flow.
