The Latest From PLUS+1™ GUIDE 3.0
Press Release – For Worldwide Release: February 2, 2007
PLUS+1TM GUIDE 3.0 Software increases Productivity, Versatility in Mobile Machine Development. Sauer-Danfoss’ latest version features easy-to-use, automated graphical development while delivering new possibilities for rich graphic displays.
AMES, IOWA, USA, SAUER-DANFOSS INC. (NYSE:SHS). The application development environment in PLUS+1 GUIDE 3.0 sets new standards for mobile machine control systems. Designed for use with Sauer-Danfoss PLUS+1 microcontrollers, I/O modules and the broadening range of PLUS+1 Compliant components, GUIDE [Graphical User Integrated Development Environment] offers OEMs greater design productivity and improved machine performance. Years of Sauer-Danfoss engineering expertise are embedded into the GUIDE machine design solution.
GUIDE 3.0 contains over 30 new basic components for building more powerful applications in the programming environment, along with a host of features that increase development productivity, improve security, and open new possibilities for rich graphical displays.
The new preview display simulator, for example, eliminates the need for a CAN-bus connection to a physical display before a graphical program (developed in the screen editor) can be viewed. Using the simulator, programming engineers can check and debug display functionality swiftly and efficiently from their desktop computer.
Another new feature of the display screen editor is the ability to associate control signal values with text strings and images. Combined with new text fonts, this GUIDE 3.0 feature greatly improves versatility when designing displays. “With more automated programming features now available, GUIDE makes it easier than ever for customers to develop complex control solutions, displays and service tools for electro-hydraulic systems,” said Fred Bezat, Sauer-Danfoss’ Application Software Product Portfolio Manager. Within the 3.0 Service Tool, a modular toolbox now allows programmers to select which specific data is shown on individual service screens. This helps programmers develop separate, customized screens for final vehicle calibration in production, maintenance tasks or control system development.
A new data-logging feature answers the need to record vehicle and operator productivity and monitor machine performance, by supporting extraction and analysis of data gathered from predefined check points during operation. “The developer can also tag critical system components during application software development, then use GUIDE to verify that required programmed devices are properly connected,” said Bezat.
Overall, the move towards a simpler, more intuitive screen appearance makes GUIDE 3.0 significantly more user-friendly. Equipped with powerful graphical development features, the upgraded GUIDE makes integration of control, work and propel functions easier than ever.
