Engine Emissions Support

The Challenge

New lower emission Tier IV and Stage IV engines will have significant impact on all future generations of off-road machines. In order to meet the required emission regulations, a number of engine characteristics will be affected. For starters, engine application operating speeds and speed bands will be reduced. Engine power levels and torque will change. Along with all this, there will be greater system heat rejection. Our industry is facing the most compelling event of our time, and time itself is running out.

The Support

From December 2009 through April 2010, Sauer-Danfoss conducted twenty-four day-long seminars in North America designed to assist off-road machine manufacturers with the challenges posed by the Tier IV/Stage IV Diesel Engine Emissions legislation change. A further twenty-two seminars were held in Europe, covering twelve countries, from April through to June 2010.

Moving Forward

Due to the positive response of the Emissions Seminars, in 2010, Sauer-Danfoss will be sponsoring web-based educational sessions to communicate additional solutions that target the challenges associated with the Diesel Engine Emission change. Please contact your Sauer-Danfoss representative for additional information on how you can participate.

Please review the Research and Solutions section of the Sauer-Danfoss Emissions site as you evaluate your Tier IV vehicle design strategy.
