Sauer-Danfoss will strive to be the Environmental, Health and Safety leader wherever we do business, and it is our objective to be the preferred supplier within our markets and the preferred employer within our communities.
Safety and Health
We will provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees, contractors and visitors through management systems, employee involvement, and partnerships with professional and regulatory agencies.
We encourage all employees to participate in safety-related activities.
We expect each employee to accept personal responsibility for their own safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors and visitors.
Environment
We will promote sustainable development, strive to prevent undesirable impacts on the environment, and strengthen the environmental consciousness of our employees.
We will emphasize the entire life cycle of our processes and products to ensure that environmental effects will be evaluated when developing or revising processes or products.
We will have an open dialogue with all interested parties about our impact on the environment. The environment will be a parameter in supplier selection and evaluation.
Management
We will maintain safety and environmental management systems designed to ensure that:
- Objectives and goals are established and plans of action are prepared and communicated
- Continual improvements are achieved
- Internal and external assessments are performed
- Employees are informed about and trained in the practical use of the systems
- Sharing of best practices is encouraged
- People responsible for safety and environmental leadership are identified and assigned adequate authority
Adequate knowledge, resources and leadership are provided in order to achieve our objectives - Our products, applied correctly, are safe throughout their lifetime for people as well as the environment
- Each location attains formal certification in applicable management systems such as OHSAS 18001, OSHA VPP, ISO 14001 and/or USEPA Performance Track.
